About the Role
Our client is seeking a Health & Safety Officer with DBS and experience working in an academic environment to work across two academic sites in the Surrey area on a full-time basis, 52 weeks a year and 37 hours per week. Available for immediate start following a successful interview. (End of January/ early February)
Responsibilities:
- Produce, review and update health and safety, fire safety and related policies and procedures.
- Promote a positive health and safety culture across both campuses.
- Carry out regular inspections and monitoring to ensure compliane with legislation and safety standards.
- Provide health and safety advice and training to staff, students and stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate records of health and safety procedures.
Requirements:
- NEBOSH Diploma, IOSH qualification or other relevant recognised health and safety qualification.
- Valid DBS check
- Experience working in academic environment (college or other school).
- Strong working knowledge of UK health and safety, and fire safety legislation.
- Experience carrying out inspections and risk assessment
- Communicate effectively among students, staff and stakeholders.
- Organised and capable of managing priorities between two campuses
