About the Role

Bridge Recruitment's client, a successful family run Curtain Walling/Glazing sub-contractor based in Smethwick, Birmingham is employing a experienced Estimator. 

Established in 2006, our client has grown to a workforce of 85 with their own design and production departments. The company offers products by Kawneer, Metal Technology, Comar, Wrightstyle and Planar ranges for floor treatments, shopfronts, entrances, windows, curtain walling, roof glazing with high performance thermal products and structural glass solutions. 

Our client operates throughout England & Wales on projects ranging from £100k-£5M, completing 40+ projects a year working with tier 1 & 2 main-contractors.

The ideal candidate will bring fresh commercial ideals and technology processes and be familiar with Logikal Projects (software).

You will have at least 5 years construction estimating experience with a further 5 years curtain walling and fenestration experience. Experience of cladding/facades and door-sets would be advantageous. You will be an excellent communicator and commercially astute, liaising with new and existing customers and closing deals wherever possible. You will have strong IT and technical skills with a keen eye for detail. You will possess strong mathematical attributes and be an all-round excellent communicator. 

You will be reporting directly to the Managing Director and Estimating Manager working as a team of 4. You must be a team player and able to work autonomously. 

Daily Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • Producing well-presented and estimations for sub-contractors tenders 
  • Assisting MD with new commercial and technological processes
  • Able to conduct business with an excellent phone manner and a willingness to meet clients
  • Accurately pricing BOQ's in accordance with contract requirements and market conditions 
  • Attending site visits ahead of tenders being returned
  • Pursuing submitted tenders
  • Project liaision with internal departments once tenders are won
  • Attending post tender and pre-order meetings
  • Producing material procurements schedules
  • Reviewing of sub-contract orders in readiness for director sign off

Package

Monday-Friday 08:45-17:15, 45-minute lunch break along with a 15:45 finish on Fridays. (Flexible hours)

Up to 50% working at home once a successful bedding in period has been passed. 

20 days holiday plus 8 bank holidays (28 in total)

Sick pay on passing a successful probation. 

Pension scheme.
