About the Role

Building Maintenance Technician - Temp to Perm

In this customer facing post, the technician will be responsible for the day-to-day operations and maintenance of clients assets; HVAC, electrical-emergency lighting

The technician will be based in the Bloomsbury area.

Purpose of Role

To provide a customer focussed service and ensure all HVAC plant and equipment is maintained to the highest standards, minimising down time, maximising asset life cycles and delivering a value for money provision of building services.

Job Description / Responsibilities


Adhere to site rules processes and procedures

Carry out service maintenance to HVAC assets and emergency lighting testing and inspection

Undertake HVAC and emergency lighting PPM’S as per the task instruction set and schedule and maintain asset details are up to date.

Ensure regulatory tasks are compliant and certified. Report any anomalies

Carry out Reactive tasks within the agreed SLA’s and report exceptions if the task is not complete within the SLA

Where necessary schedule in specialist service visits, out of hours works and enter dates/times into the department Outlook calendar. Check quality and tasks are complete & all details entered on service report

Escort/ manage contractors as and when required

Maintain good housekeeping throughout

Maintain stock and inventory control

Procurement of spares, consumables

Product and Process knowledge

HVAC Systems

PPM servicing / SFG20

Health & Safety Awareness

Skills & Qualifications


Minimum 3 - 5 years’ experience in a similar role / working environment

Technical experience in all aspects of building services engineering with a good background in HVAC, electrical equipment, repair, and maintenance.

Good understanding of air conditioning systems (AHU’s, FCU’s, split units) including the operations and controls

Some previous experience /exposure with automated building management systems

Ability to read schematics, and control diagrams

Electrically competent

An understanding of SPOF’s, root cause analysis, fault finding, risk mitigation would be an advantage
